POW/MIA Military Flag Nylon SolarGuard Nyl-Glo
The POW/MIA flag was created in 1971 for the National League of Families of American Prisoners and Missing in Southeast Asia and was officially recognized by the United States Congress in conjunction with the Vietnam War POW/MIA issue. The flag serves as the enduring symbol of our Nation’s concern and commitment to resolving, as fully as possible, the fates of Americans still prisoner, missing, or unaccounted for, thus ending the uncertainty for their families and the Nation.
The black field represents the plight of prisoners of war and those missing in action. At the center of the flag is the official POW/MIA emblem, featuring the silhouette of a soldier before a guard tower and barbed wire, symbolizing captivity and vigilance. A white circle surrounds the emblem, bearing the words “Prisoner of War” and “Missing in Action,” along with the phrase “You Are Not Forgotten,” underscoring the Nation’s promise to honor and remember those who have not returned.
