The United States Space Force was established in 2019 as the newest branch of the U.S. Armed Forces, dedicated to protecting America’s interests in space. The official Space Force flag features a deep midnight-blue field symbolizing the vastness of space. At the center is the Space Force delta, derived from early space operations insignia and representing readiness, vigilance, and global mission awareness.
Encircling the delta is a white orbital ring, symbolizing orbital paths and the Space Force’s commitment to defending U.S. and allied space capabilities. Beneath the delta are three curved lines representing the Department of the Air Force, from which the Space Force was formed, as well as the past, present, and future of space operations. The Roman numeral “MMXIX” (2019) marks the year the United States Space Force was officially established.
